Each person is unique and everyone has different dental needs. No one knows this quite as well as Dr. Silver. As a trumpet player, he knows the best musicians have distinct jaws and teeth that enhance their talent. When it comes to dentistry, musicians need services that can maintain their health and improve their smile without affecting their ability to do what they love.
When Dr. Silver examines anyone’s mouth, he listens very carefully to their concerns and style of life so he can recommend the best personal treatment for them. Usually, his treatments come from a combination of these carefully selected services. If you don’t see a particular treatment below, contact our office at 212-924-6890 so we can discuss it with you.

Restorative Care Services
The enamel on your teeth can withstand bumps, daily grinding, and the effects of beverages, food, and tobacco. But that layer of enamel is only as thick as a dime, so when it breaks or cracks, you’re likely to have problems and pain in your mouth. When that happens, Dr. Silver can use a variety of restorative treatments to stop the pain, solve the problem, and restore your smile to a beauty that fits your lifestyle. If you have pain for the first time in your mouth or you have older dentistry that just isn’t cutting it anymore, talk to Dr. Silver about any of these restorative services:
- Tooth Colored Fillings
- Porcelain Veneers
- Bonding
- All Porcelain Crowns, Onlays and Inlays
- Bridges
- Dentures & Partial Dentures
- Root Canal Therapy
- Dental Implants
Gum Disease Services
No matter who you are, it’s likely that you have some form of gum disease. Nearly three-fourths of the population has this condition, which causes permanent tooth-loss and is associated with serious illnesses, like diabetes, heart disease, and immune system weakening. To treat gum disease, Dr. Silver uses the latest cutting edge technology - he is one of the few dentists in the country to use ozone oil, a non-surgical treatment that kills the bacteria that causes gum disease. More importantly, he treats you with a gentle touch and never lectures his patients about caring for their teeth. If you think you might have gum disease, see us immediately to learn about the following services:
- Charting and Diagnostic Services
- In Office Non-Surgical Therapy

When Dr. Silver uses our cosmetic services on patients’ smiles, often those patients are amazed when they look in the mirror and see their teeth for the first time. During subsequent visits, we notice that they take better care of themselves and seem more confident. Sometimes, they’ve even met someone special between visits because they can smile comfortably. If you think it’s time to enhance your smile, talk to Dr. Silver. After evaluating your mouth, he may suggest one or more of the following cosmetic services:
- Orthodontics
- Invisalign

Sleep Apnea
Sleep apnea is a treatable disorder in which a person stops breathing for short periods during sleep. This can occur as much as several hundred times a night, often going unknown by the sufferer. Some of the symptoms are daytime sleepiness (such as falling asleep at work, while driving or when talking), irritability or fatigue. If you have a sleeping partner, they may notice heavy snoring, gasping for air or long pauses in your breathing.
If you have some of these symptoms see your physician for a full diagnosis. You may need a sleep study done, in which your episodes of apnea can be measured. If untreated, someone with sleep apnea will often go through life in a fog of fatigue and have a higher risk of heart disease, heart attack and stroke. Also, the sufferer is more likely to have a traffic, workplace or home accident or risk falling asleep while driving.
Treatment ranges from changes in sleep habits to throat surgery. The most common treatment is continuous positive airway pressure or CPAP. This is a device that keeps your airway open by regulated air pressure. Also, many people can find relief by wearing a dental device at night that moves your lower jaw slightly forward thus having the effect opening up the back of the throat to make breathing easier.
Personally, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about twelve years ago and decided to learn as much as I could about this dangerous disorder. I used a CPAP for a while, tried different dental devices and eventually lost enough weight so that the apnea was no longer significant. I have been helping patients fight sleep apnea ever since.
If you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, or need advice on getting diagnosed, give us a call to find out how we can help you!
